Emory United Methodist Church

Join Petworth Peanuts and Ward 4 Mutual Aid at the 2025 Mother's Day FREE Market! Peanuts is collecting donations of gently used maternity, baby & kids clothes, strollers, toys, gear & more, which will be organized and given away for FREE at the Market at Emory United Methodist Church  (6100 Georgia Ave NW) from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Final Date is pending and this page will be updated soon!

Please see below for important details and sign up here to volunteer!

Can you help make the market possible?

The market is 100% dependent on volunteers! Many opportunities are available, with a critical need for collection points (covered porches), postering support, and day-of logistics and staffing.  Check out the volunteer needs and sign up to help here.  We are collecting donations starting in April through the day before the market in May.

Donations should be igood used condition; please do not donate stained, damaged, or incomplete items. We also request that you please:

  • Bag and label all clothing together by size

  • Bag and label all pump parts by type

  • Rubber-band shoes together by the pair

  • Securely box/bag all game and toy pieces together

  • Bag stroller, crib, or other gear parts and accessories, and tape to main item

These simple tasks will save hundreds of hours and lots and lots of waste!  A map of porch drop locations will be posted on this page in April - check back soon. Items can also be dropped off directly at the church on the Thursday and Friday before the market, or the morning of the market if necessary.

To drop off donations at Emory Church, drive up to the outside of the church but do NOT park in the bus lane! You will get a ticket. We suggest parking on Quackenbos with flashers; the market volunteers will help unload your car and bring donations into the first floor or lower level entrance directly  off Georgia Avenue. On the day of the Market, some items may  be set up in the grassy area outside across the street (to left of church). Final logistics for Church drop offs will be updated on this page soon - check back in April 2025.
