About the event
Babywearing can continue to be an invaluable tool in chasing after a highly-mobile (but easily tired) toddler! Babywearing can be a component of the safe attachment or "home base" that helps toddlers to confidently roam further (literally and developmentally), knowing that they always have a place of connection and support to come back to. Toddler-wearing can also be a tool to help families and toddlers cope with: separation anxiety, weaning, starting preschool, new siblings (including tandem-wearing!), traveling, sickness or injury, and all the added complexity of our lives that become so much more full as our babies grow into toddlers and preschoolers!
We'll demonstrate front carrying, discuss how to comfortably baby wear now that your toddler is heavier, review options to get into a solo back-carry for each of the major types of toddler carriers, and discuss the pros/cons of each so that you can choose the best carrier(s) for you, with plenty of time for questions.
This fantastic in-person course will take place at Sherman Circle NW and will feature Katie from The Breastfeeding Center. Kids welcomed! Note: in the event of poor weather, this class will be hosted in a large space at ABC Child Development Center (located right on Grant Circle). An event coordinator will advise accordingy!
